About Kaza Law
He didn’t just study this system. He lived it.
Daven Ghandi left Malacca, Malaysia for the United States and built a new life inside the immigration system before he ever practiced it. Today he leads Kaza Law from New York City, representing families and founders in six languages.

Our story
“Kaza” means home.
The name comes from Kristang, an endangered language spoken in Malacca, Malaysia — the region where Daven was born. It means “home,” and it carries the whole point of the firm: helping people build one, on American soil, the way Daven once did himself.
Daven immigrated to the United States and lived the process from the inside before he ever filed a petition for anyone else. That history is not a marketing line. It is the reason he reads a hard case with patience instead of paperwork, and why the firm treats clients like family.
He has practiced immigration law for over a decade, helping individuals and families from around the world secure visas and permanent residency. His work spans business and family immigration, green cards, and citizenship — and he champions extraordinary-ability cases for standout figures in sports, the arts, and entertainment.
Daven’s approach is also shaped by years spent living in Mexico and Guatemala, as well as prior volunteer work with immigrant communities, refugees, and immigration rights clinics. Those experiences sharpened the empathy, cultural fluency, and practical perspective he brings to every client matter.
Today Kaza Law operates from 1330 Avenue of the Americas and serves clients across the country and around the world, in six languages. The skyline outside the window is the same one that greets so many new arrivals. That is not lost on anyone here.
Kaza means home. That’s what we help people secure.

A visible, community-rooted attorney.

What we believe
Three convictions that shape every case.
Immigrant-led, by design.
Daven crossed the same borders and filled out the same forms our clients face now. That lived experience sits at the center of how this firm reads a case.
Status protection runs through everything.
An accident, an arrest, a missed deadline — each can put a visa or a green card at risk. We weave that awareness into every matter, immigration and injury alike.
Federal-grade practice, human face.
Extraordinary-ability petitions, marriage and family cases, humanitarian protections. The work is technical and the stakes are personal, and we treat clients like family because that is what they become.
Credentials and community
Memberships that signal where we stand.
Daven holds memberships with the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York, and the New York State Bar Association — a standing commitment to immigration law and advocacy.
